Patriot Camp is sponsoring “Take Your Kids to Vote” on Tuesday November 2, 2010 at the Paxtang Borough Gymnasium and Living Water Community Church polling places.
Parents are encouraged to research candidates and discuss issues as a family and then take their kids with them on November 2 from 4-8 pm. The kids will go through the voting process with their parents and then they will be directed to their own voting area. There the kids will sign their name and fill out a ballot on the races for US Senate and House and PA Governor. There will also be a special “kid-friendly” question. Kids will place their ballots in a ballot box. The results of the kids’ election will be posted on the Paxtang Borough website and on www.patriotcamp.org.
Even if you are not within these 2 polling areas, we strongly urge to you include your kids in your research of candidates and to take them along to the polls while you vote. Daniel Webster once said “Impress upon children the truth that the exercise of the elective franchise is a social duty of as solemn a nature as man can be called to perform; that a man may not innocently trifle with his vote; that every elector is a trustee as well for others as himself and that every measure he supports has an important bearing on the interests of others as well as on his own.” See you at the polls!
